Danielle & Luke

Danielle and Luke’s wedding held at the St. Augustine Rod and Gun Club was a perfect mix of rustic masculine elements and dainty feminine touches. Danielle is a visual artist at Anthropologie in Jacksonville, FL as well as an incredible Graphic Designer. Luke, is a graphic designer as well with a theatrical personality and great style. Danielle let us have fun with the flowers and decor for her wedding by providing us with vintage hat pins, wooden cheese boxes, and brass buttons collected from her grandparents. Thanks for letting us join in celebrating your day! Thanks also to Ben Sasso Photography for once again providing us with incredible pictures. I hope you all enjoy.

Thankful New Year

Happy new year to all of our followers. We certainly had a busy holiday season filled with evergreens, Saturday Markets, Holiday parties and bridal consultations. To tell you the truth New Years has never meant that much to me until about two to three years ago. It was then that I realized just how much can happen in a years time. Looking back over this year I am realizing just that. Wow! Just over a year ago, I moved to St. Augustine. Knowing that I wanted to move here about 4 years ago, thinking about re-establishing a wedding florist in this funky city seemed far off. I’m so thankful for my incredible business partner Meredith Davis, our great little studio on San Marco, the joy being creative brings me, the supportive duo of Matthew and Tommy, and for the endless opportunities ahead. Thanks for letting me be overly sentimental and here’s to another year full of lots of great stuff happening!

For the Last Minute Bride:

So we can all be a little last minute sometimes. Take for example my postponed decision to make pizzelle cookies last night about 45 minutes before I had to leave for my New Years extravaganza. I was putting on my make-up, curling my hair and picking out my outfit while the pizzelle waffle iron pressed my cookies. Yikes!

If you are a last minute bride, have no fear, we understand. In fact we are going to reward your procrastination with a great deal. If your wedding is less than two months away and you still need flowers. We will provide a beautiful rose bouquet (your choice of color) for $55 and a matching boutonniere at $5. And each additional bouquet at $35. Give us a call for more details. 904-829-3301 *typically we just need about 24-36 hrs notice.

Our saturday morning gig

This past weekend was The Conservatorie’s second week at the Saint Augustine saturday morning farmer’s market. We have been working madly the past two weekends, to produce wreaths, swags, arrangements, and bouquets all just in time for Christmas!

In our quest to provide responsibly grown flowers, we have made sure all of our flowers have been certified that they are grown as socially and environmentally responsible as possible. Which has really made for a fun market! So many people have been so supportive and excited about our presence, and we have had a great time being there and bringing fresh cut flowers and greens to our neighbors.

Already, the market has become something I look forward to about the weekend. I had forgotten how many wonderfully weird and special people make up this small little southern town, we call home. I couldn’t imagine doing what we’re doing anywhere else, without all of the love and support from our community. And that’s not just for ‘Tis the Season’s sake!

Thanks so much to all of you who have stopped by our booth to buy some flowers, say hello, or just to stick a nose in and smell the Christmas green…. we are thankful for all of you!

Reminder- This is the last week for the market before it is closed for two weeks for the holidays! See you there!

Merry Christmas from THE CONSERVATORIE!

Come by the Saint Augustine Farmers market tomorrow morning for some fun holiday wreaths and arrangements! And if anyone wants to bring us some hot chocolate it would be much appreciated :)

Home-made…

The forecast for today has been at the forefront of my mind all week. High of 61 degrees low of 38. In downtown St. Augustine with the square all lit up with white lights, wreaths on the lamp posts, and this chilly weather rolling in, its really hard not to get into the Christmas spirit. Just last night Meredith and I were riding together to a friends house and as we passed downtown she says, “just look at our Christmas town!”  The city is really charming all throughout the year, but I think it really shows off in the short winter months that we have. So, as I spent most of my day planning for the holidays at the shop, delivering poinsettias to the Lighthouse and placing our Christmas flower orders I started to think about what really makes the holiday feel like the holiday. I found it funny what I really came up with. My mom has always loved to listen to a Perry Como Christmas album to get ready. Bashfully, I think I’ve grown to miss Christmas when Perry’s voice isn’t streaming through the speakers. Oh boy did I just say that.  Our family also has a vast collection of home-made elements that bring everything to life. From our stockings to our misfit tree of wonky ornaments I love a good home-made Christmas. So, today I felt the inspiration to gain some inspiration for a home-made Christmas here at the shop. Naturally I went to the web. Here are some fun finds, things we’re making and some amateur shots of our beautiful Christmas town.
